A RETREAT WITH A DIFFERENT PATH
Where Self-Discovery Meets Direct Experience
Most approaches to personal growth ask you to reflect on your life from a distance — to think about patterns, talk through history, and build insight in a room.
Here, you encounter yourself in the middle of things — while learning to surf, while holding your breath underwater, while moving your body in ways it hasn't moved in years.
In those moments, the patterns that normally operate invisibly become visible. The ways you push through fear, collapse under pressure, abandon yourself, or hold back from full expression — they all show up. Not as abstract ideas, but as real, observable moments.
That's when the therapeutic work becomes most alive.

Supported by Somatic Practice
An awareness of how emotion, stress, and experience live inside the body.
Pay attention to what is happening in the present
In the body, in the emotions, in the way you relate to yourself and to others.
Be curious about what’s happening
That curiosity becomes a powerful form of self-knowledge that doesn't depend on anyone else to explain to yourself.
OUR APPROACH
Awareness through experience
The retreat is shaped by Gestalt principles — an experiential approach rooted in present-moment awareness.

THE METHODOLOGY
What the Experience Contains
The Ocean as a Mirror
When you paddle into a wave for the first time, every habitual pattern of self-management surfaces immediately. You discover whether you freeze or push through. Whether you compare yourself or stay present. Whether you give up before you start or demand too much of yourself.
Somatic Exploration
Throughout the retreat, participants engage in guided somatic practices — movement, breath, body awareness, and embodied exercises designed to bring attention to what lives beneath conscious thought. The body holds patterns that conversation can miss. We work with it directly.
Expressive Movement
Each day includes movement practices that prioritize exploration over performance. Dance, creative movement, and body expression are used as vehicles for emotional contact — ways of expressing and releasing what words can't always reach.
The group is part of the work.
In a carefully held therapeutic environment, participants work together — sharing, reflecting, being witnessed, and witnessing others. The relational dynamics that emerge in the group often mirror the patterns participants carry in everyday life.
Noticing those dynamics in real time is some of the most powerful work that happens here.
Individual Depth Process
Alongside group work, there are spaces for individual therapeutic exploration — moments where José works directly with each participant in the presence of the group. These are not performances. They are real contact.
Creative Integration
Each evening closes with creative integration — journaling, artistic expression, symbolic work, and reflection. These practices allow what has been experienced through the body and in relationship to be anchored in meaning.
The Bonfire Ritual
Participants gather around a fire for one of the retreat's most significant moments. Through writing, symbols, and ceremony, each person is invited to acknowledge the protective structures they've built — and to consciously begin loosening what no longer serves.
